A Year In The Life of The Rector Family

The Year of Firsts is one of my most favorite session offerings. I love seeing families grow and change and connect in new ways. I love the honor of being a sort of family historian. And I really really love comments like these from my clients:"You have me crying at work now. These are so precious and perfect. I am so thankful we've been able to do this photo package with you. I will treasure these images of our family." - MeredithFrom the first tiny bump to the first faltering steps, this is the first year (and a half!) of this sweet boy's life. I can't wait to see how he grows from here!! Enjoy. xoThese lovely parents-to-be wanted to announce their pregnancy with a bump mini-session, for sending out on their holiday cards. We had the perfect crystal-clear fall day for our early morning session here in Chattanooga. The following spring, right before little man made his grand entrance, we followed up with a full maternity session - in the pouring rain. I LOVE rain sessions. And isn't the river view spectacular?!Next, of course, was our newborn session, which we did at their home in Atlanta (yes, I shoot in Atlanta! I love my Atlanta clients!). I photograph newborns only in-home because I strongly believe that babies are best photographed in their natural environment, as part of their family; never staged in a studio or posed in a bucket. Babies should be photographed as babies - loved and welcomed members of a family. The difference between newborn and 6 months is HUGE. I hesitate to say which is my favorite session in a Year of Firsts, but 6 months is definitely the biggest change.12 months is that magical phase where babies suddenly launch into toddler-hood, seemingly overnight. They discover a little independence and suddenly they're toddling and off to middle school (sorry, I got carried away there....sniff sniff).

It's free; we can get to know each other and discuss your vision for your family photographs. If your baby has already arrived, we can always prorate your package, or sub out maternity for a 3 or 9 month session. I can't wait to hear from you!_______________
