Rise + Shine: The Cutler Family
Two things, before we begin:
- Yes - I fully own that I have failed my own 100 Days of Blogging challenge. Like, splatted-flat-on-my-face-failing.
- I have good reasons, and also failure doesn't bother me at all. Like, it should probably bother me more than it should. But it doesn't. Oh well.
Now that we have that out of the way, I have SO MUCH to share with you, friends! I can't/don't want to put it all in one post (because then what would I write about next?!), but fun things are on the way. Updates, sessions, events, and pictures that have been making my heart melt.First up is this Rise + Shine session I photographed with the Cutler family waaaaaaaaaay back in April (did I mention I'm running behind in blogging and life?!). If you've ever had a moment where your heart hurts from swelling with joy and everything in you says "THIS is fully my purpose right in this moment" - that's how I felt photographing this session.I really relate to Lisa; first, we share about a billion common friends, so clearly we both have
excellent taste in humankind (I just read that back to myself and realized how cannibalistic it sounds and that is SO not what I'm going for - but you get the idea). Second, we're both moms of three boys (and one of each of our respective kiddos even shares a name). Third, we both really lean in to the chaos of raising a family. It's a gift, and it flies by so quickly it will give you whiplash. So when Lisa texted me this after seeing her gallery for the first time, I really felt connected; what she expressed to me was EXACTLY what I felt/was after when I photographed her family:
"I'm a giant puddle of tears. I really really love these pics. Because I have loved his season of my life, and the babies are growing but now I have this perfect time capsule of what it was really like.
It was really this good. It was filled with light and laughter and love and mess. And my little boys."
Enjoy._______________ Emily Lapish is a lifestyle photographer in Chattanooga, TN specializing in all things family-related. She spends her time
